Here’s a true original. Xavier Rudd sings in a husky gentle semi-whisper,
close to the microphone. He sings of misfortune and fate like blues singers of
old, but he also plays a mean didgeridoo on several numbers. “Pockets of
Peace” and “Famine” are skillful modern folk-protest songs and
‘Connie’s Song” brings back memories of “good-time music.”
