Showtime’s latest series, Weeds, utilizes a strong cast of slightly off-kilter musical material underscore the show. Pixies guitarist, Joey Santiago, reveals a true gift for instrumental composition with his two entries, “Fake Purse” and “Birthday Video.” Malvina Reynolds’ “Little Boxes,” the disc’s opener, sounds as though it would work well in a Coen Brothers film.
