As with films such as Garden State, the first half of The Lake House’s soundtrack utilizes some obscure songs from the past. Tracks such as Nick Drake’s “Time Has Told Me” and Carole King’s “It’s Too Late” are early gems in the collection. Interestingly, every track after the first five belongs to Rachel Portman, who also delivers strong work to the album.
